IT'S a good day for dainty dwellers with this latest deal on a $5,500 storage shed that can function as a tiny home.

Amazon is selling the Springfield wood shed from popular tiny shed maker, Best Barns Inc.

The treated, engineered wood siding is also designed to resist fungal decay and keep critters away.

Though Amazon calls it a kit, the pre cut and pre drilled shed is made of high quality materials, making it easy to convert into a tiny home.

When fully assembled, the structure's walls are eight feet high and reach 13 feet high at peak height.

Complete with carriage style doors, transom windows and strong wood construction, it should be able to withstand demanding wind and snow loads.

There is an option to add additional windows for light and ventilation.

Customers should note that the tiny home does not come with a floor, so that will need to be bought separately.

Paint and shingles are also sold separately.

Amazon is currently selling hundreds of DIY multipurpose sheds in different sizes, made of varying materials.

While most tiny home reviewers are happy with their purchase, many say assembly is laborious and requires the help of several people.

The tiny home is marketed as easy to assemble with a hammer, drill, screwdriver, tape measure, level and stepladder, according to Home Depot's listing.

Builders are instructed to always wear safety glasses when putting it together.
